Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its result. Garden County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send an email or message, we retain it as needed to answer. The content remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive basic technical information whenever a page loads:
- Pages viewed, timestamps, and approximate time spent
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring site, when available
- The Internet Protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show broad use patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers assist with compiling that traffic information. You may block cookies through browser controls, although some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the provider that handles it
- Maintain performance and site availability
- Find and correct errors or other technical problems
- Understand which Garden County resources visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Garden County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Garden County Sheriff, Garden County courts, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or dossiers about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each company determines how it retains or shares data. Review those terms before running a query because we do not control the provider's practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Garden County Sheriff, Nebraska court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow such a link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before supplying personal information.
Advertising providers may use their systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. That processing does not occur on systems we control.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks that serve content on these pages
- A government or law enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information we receive. No internet-connected system can be made completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide added rights. Nebraska's public-record framework is the Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, while dissemination of state criminal history is governed by the Security, Privacy, and Dissemination of Criminal History Information Act, including §29-3523. Those laws govern government-held records and do not turn this private site into a records custodian. For information this site controls, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Object to certain processing where applicable
- Request deletion, subject to legal retention duties
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically for changes.
